POETRY: We prefer poetry that is more than prose broken into lines. Whether it is narrative or lyrical, we want a clear sense of voice. The poem should demand to be spoken.

FICTION: Of course, a clear story with a beginning, middle and end is essential, but the story, like poetry, is literary art that must be constructed with vivid imagery and an engaging narrative voice.
